My son told me today that Super Bowl Sunday should be considered an American holiday; to which I reminded him that the fact that this "new" holiday would always fall on a Sunday wouldn't count as a day- off school. But to which he surprisingly quickly responded that in fact this new holiday would not be about being off from school. It would recognize that about almost every single American in this world is in front of a tv, on the same day, tuning to the same channel, at the same time, cheering for the same sport. He certainly had a point.111.5 million people in synch--that is a great cause to celebrate.
So this year, Super Bowl Sunday is officially a holiday in my home!
To get in the mood, here are a few ideas:
1. Dress the part! Boys Paul Sweater or Girls Jacquie Sweatshirt
2. It's all about the food
3. Bring the ball home
